Anticipated Contract Length/End Date: 2-3 months (Part-time, hours and length to be determined)

Work set-up: Remote, with collaboration with global teams (e.g. Germany, CAN, US, AU)

We are seeking an experienced Communications Strategist to take on a project with our client in the information technology, consulting, and outsourcing industry. The successful candidate will have experience in both professional services and the defence industry to develop a comprehensive communications strategy for the client’s emerging Defence Europe business unit. This role will assist in shaping the messaging, mission, and vision for the defence sector offering that will ultimately be rolled out globally.

What you will do:

• Collaborate closely with a EU-based marketing lead to develop a strategic communications plan for the company’s defence industry sector.
• Help to define core messaging, mission, and vision for the defence sector, identifying the core pillars, positioning, and value proposition for customers.
• Conduct interviews with key stakeholders to identify and align the overarching narrative with both company values and the business unit’s vision.
• Provide professional insights and recommendations to ensure the communication strategy effectively represents the positioning in the global defence industry.

• Strong background in communications strategy within the professional services sector.
• Experience in and/or developing plans for the EUR defence industry, or a related industry, is required.
• Proven experience in developing messaging, positioning, and strategic narratives for new or emerging business units.
• Ability to conduct stakeholder interviews, synthesize insights, and translate them into a coherent, impactful communications strategy.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across global teams.
• Strong understanding of the defence industry landscape in Europe, the US, Australia, and Canada is a plus.
