Purpose of the Role: We are looking for an adaptable and talented Writer to join our Editorial Department, which is responsible for creating Diply.com's core product—articles. This role goes beyond traditional writing—it’s about generating fresh ideas and crafting compelling stories or lists tailored to our diverse social audience. The ideal candidate can seamlessly adapt content for different formats and brand segments, with an eye for what resonates with Diply’s social media users.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our Social Content Manager, leveraging Diply's data and content creation tools. Success requires a combination of intuition, audience understanding, and flexibility in creating engaging content that keeps readers hooked from start to finish.
Reporting Relationships: This role reports directly to the Manager, Social Content.
Key Accountabilities:
Delivering a Positive, High-Quality User Experience:
- Self-edit articles before submission to ensure they are free of spelling, grammar, fact-checking, or image attribution errors.
- Select high-resolution, advertiser-friendly images that help enhance storytelling within each article.
- Ensure compliance with Diply’s 2024 Content Standards, with a particular focus on copyright, image attribution, and platform policy adherence.
Driving Article Performance through Social Distribution:
- Prioritize timely content submissions that align with trending topics or audience interests.
- Format articles to captivate readers from beginning to end, optimizing for higher content consumption rates.
- Craft engaging, click-worthy titles that resonate with the audience and drive traffic using learned tactics.
- Ensure each article reflects the defined tone, voice, and point of view of the assigned brand, fostering community and authenticity in content.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Articles that consistently meet or exceed brand benchmarks for engagement and read-through rates.
- Achieve or surpass component production volume targets set by leadership.
- Drive strong social audience engagement and revenue contribution as defined by brand expectations.
Success Factors:
- Ability to tell compelling, polished stories that maintain reader engagement from beginning to end.
- Consistent achievement of daily content quota set by the content leadership team without sacrificing quality.
- Ability to extend articles while preserving quality, narrative flow, and reader interest.
- Ability to work with various tools to create content.
Requirements:
Job Skills:
- 1–2 years of proven experience as a content creator, writer, or copywriter.
- Portfolio showcasing a variety of published articles.
- Proven ability to create strong, engaging content.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Strong research, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Hands-on experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Skill in adapting writing style to various formats and content requirements.
